Start Your Career as an Electrician

Moyer Electric Inc. provides full training at no cost for employees who are ready to learn, work hard, and grow. Our apprenticeship pathway combines weekly classroom learning with hands-on jobsite experience, taking you from beginner to fully trained Journeyman Electrician over a four-year program.

How the Apprenticeship Works

Our apprenticeship program is designed to launch your electrical career—even if you're starting with little or no experience. Here's how the process works:

1. Apply Between January 1 and May 1

We accept apprenticeship applications beginning January 1 and closing May 1 each year. During this window, candidates can submit their application directly through this page. All applications received in this timeframe are reviewed after the deadline.

2. Interviews for Top Applicants

After reviewing submissions, we contact top applicants to schedule interviews in May of the given year. This is your chance to demonstrate your interest, work ethic, and readiness to learn the trade.

3. Paid Summer Full-time Internship

Applicants selected from the interview process are invited to join a paid summer internship beginning in June where you will:

  • Work full-time alongside experienced electricians
  • Learn foundational electrical skills
  • Gain exposure to real jobsite work
  • Demonstrate reliability, safety awareness, and initiative

Internship performance plays a key role in final placement for the fall apprenticeship class.

4. Apprenticeship School Starts in the Fall

Accepted interns begin formal apprenticeship training in the fall, which includes:

  • Weekly evening classroom instruction
  • Full-time, on-the-job training
  • Mentorship from experienced, safety-focused electricians
  • The skills needed to grow from beginner to professional

All school and training costs are fully covered by Moyer Electric.

5. Earn Your Journeyman Certification

Over four years, apprentices complete:

  • Required coursework
  • 8,000+ hours of supervised field experience
  • The training necessary to become a Journeyman Electrician, a respected and recognized trade credential

Why Choose Moyer Electric?

  • Earn while you learn — paid work plus education
  • No cost for tuition or training materials
  • Work throughout Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Mishawaka, Osceola, and surrounding areas
  • Hands-on learning with experienced professionals
  • A reliable, long-term career path with strong earning potential

Applications closed for 2026.

We're no longer accepting applications for our 2026 apprenticeship class. Applications for 2027 will be accepted beginning January 1, 2027. Please return then to apply.
